Hello again, world
This site last changed in August 2017. Here is what replaced it, and how posts like this one get published now.
[SAMPLE POST — replace or delete me. I exist so the first build has something to render, and so you can see every element the post template styles.]
The old site was a Jekyll build with a Material Design Lite theme, last touched in a more optimistic decade. This one is Eleventy and Tailwind, built by GitHub Actions, served by GitHub Pages.
How a post gets published
Publishing is a file and a push. A post is Markdown with a little front matter:
---
title: What IPAM taught me about meetings
topic: AWS
lede: One or two sentences that set the post up.
summary: The one-liner shown on the Writing index.
---
Drop it in src/posts/, named YYYY-MM-DD-slug.md, then:
git add . && git commit -m "post: ipam lessons" && git push
About a minute later it's live. Things worth knowing:
- The date in the filename becomes the post date and sorts the index.
inline codeand fenced code blocks are highlighted at build time — no JavaScript ships for it.- Light or dark follows the reader's system preference; the toggle in the nav overrides it.
The best publishing workflow is the one indistinguishable from the work you were already doing.
That's the whole system. No admin panel, no database, nothing to patch.
